“Thomson Thrives Together”

ABOUT “BENJI” BENJAMIN CRANFORD JR.

“Benji” Benjamin Cranford, Jr., a true hometown hero, has risen from humble beginnings to become a successful entrepreneur and advocate for the people of Thomson. Born and raised in Thomson, he and his twin brother faced challenging times as children, sharing a single bowl of cereal between them. Benji’s early entrepreneurial spirit shone through as he and his brother launched a leaf-raking business in their community.

After graduating from Thomson High School, Benji’s hard work and determination led him to save up enough money to purchase a dump truck in 1998, marking the beginning of Cranford Trucking. Although this venture faced its ups and downs, it ultimately paved the way for his successful endeavor, C&H Paving, which he established from the ground up in 2000.

C&H Paving, based in Thomson, has thrived under Benji’s leadership, employing a significant workforce and contributing to the growth of the community. Benji’s commitment to his town was further recognized when he received the Small Business of the Year award through the Thomson-McDuffie Chamber of Commerce.

Now, as a mayoral candidate, Benji Cranford Jr. seeks to give every citizen a voice, promote fairness, and make it easier for businesses to thrive in Thomson. He emphasizes that he’s not a politician but rather a dedicated neighbor who wants the best for his town, where he resides with his four sons, who are also involved in his business.

Grow

“As a small business owner, I had to grind for years to build my business. It shouldn’t be that hard for you. I’ll make it easier to start your business and help Thomson grow while keeping the small-town feel we all love.”

UNITE

“No matter the circumstance, interacting with the sheriff’s office can be an impactful moment. Meeting people with sincerity opens up a critical dialogue whether we’re building relationships with youth or helping the victim of a crime.”

Listen

“I’m in this race to bust the inner circle and give everyone a voice. The best way to do that is to listen. It’s about time someone did.”
